Course Open

Dear Members,

As many of you already know by now, golf courses have been given the green light by the government to re-open from Monday 18th May in the first phase of easing restrictions since the lockdown was put in place.

We are, as no doubt everyone is, excited to get golf resumed again here in Murvagh but we now ask you all to be patient with us as we await the list of protocols & procedures from the Governing bodies of golf in Ireland. We would hope to have this document sent to us by this weekend & once we have reviewed it we will contact you all immediately to let you know. Until then the timesheets will remain closed as we still have no firm confirmation on group sizes or intervals required between tee times. We are aware that one of our neighbouring clubs has already open their time sheets, however, this was done without proper guidance from Golf Ireland, as they clearly stated to wait until they released a statement to all clubs.

The initial phase will mean that it will be members only allowed on the course and we would like to say thank you to all the members who have remained loyal to the club and renewed your subscriptions for 2020, we hope to see you all back out enjoying your golf in Murvagh in a few weeks time.

We would also like to echo the governing bodies sentiments and thank all of our front line workers for doing a tremendous job during this very difficult time in saving the lives of so many who been affected by covid-19. We know there are many members of the club that have been serving on the front line throughout this pandemic and we really cannot thank you all enough for your work for ensuring the safety of the public.

We will have further updates in the coming days so until then, stay safe & get practicing those swings in the garden (and please don't break any windows!).
