|Mini Open Week 2018: Day 1 sponsored by AIB
|Our Mini Open Week for 2018 kicked off here yesterday in Murvagh, with the rain clearing just in time for the first golfers to tee off at 8am.
In what turned out to be perfect conditions on the day for the AIB Donegal sponsored competition, it was a prize list very much dominated by locals with Alan O'Keeffe returning a fantastic score of 44pts off 11 to take top spot. With 43pts, Joseph "JT" Timoney would have thought he had won as would Kieran McElroy who shot 42pts on the day but with the conditions as good as they were, Big scores were needed. Billy Madden took the Gross playing off 7 with 32 gross points.
Not to let the locals have it all our own way here, Mary Shorten, all the way up from Cork, made sure at least one prize left Murvagh on Wednesday by winning the Ladies Competition.
