CLOSURE DUE TO COVID-19
| It is with great regret that we must announce that Donegal Golf Club will close with immediate effect until April 19th, in line with the HSE, GUI & ILGU recommendations announced earlier today.
This is a difficult time, but right now, we have to play our part in protecting ourselves and the most vulnerable in the community.
We hope that you all stay safe and please follow all guidelines set out by the government and various health organisations so we can help fight against this virus and get back out golfing in the not too distant future.|
Benefits of Golf for Mental Health
|With a lot of stress & uncertainty floating around at the minute, it is important that now more than ever we all look after our Mental Health.
With a spell of good weather here, golf has been proven to have Mental Health Benefits, 5 of which can be read about by clicking on the link attached.
Remember, if you are going out to play a round today, please stick to the social distancing & hygiene guidelines in place, along with the guidelines set out by the Club.
Golf Digest have a great article outlining 5 mental health benefits of playing and can view by clicking on the link above the picture attached.|
Covid-19 Precautions UPDATED 17/03/20

> Limited access to both the shop & the office.
We ask everyone to please adhere to the social distancing guidelines and hygiene recommendations set out by the various national & international health organisations.
Social Golf is still available.
The following are the on course policies in place:
>All bunkers are GUR & Rakes have been removed until further notice.
>All Flagsticks are to be left in the hole at all times.
>The height of all cups has been raised to allow for safer retrieval of golf ball.
>Please adhere to the Social Distancing guidlines set by the HSE & WHO at all times when playing.
We would also ask members to use the BRS system to book tee times to prevent any hold ups or mass gatherings at the first tee.
All face to face meetings are also postponed and any necessary business is to be carried out by phone, email or WhatsApp.
We thank you all for your co-operation and hope you all stay safe throughout this difficult time.

North West Seniors 2019 Results
|The 2019 North West Seniors took place here in Donegal Golf Club last Wednesday & Thursday (7th & 8th August).
Day 1 saw the early starters get the best of the weather as rain moved in as the afternoon progressed. This didn't hamper Justin Coughlin of Donegal or Sean Moyna of Rossmore as they shot a 77 & 80 gross to sit 1st and 2nd overnight respectively.
The conditions for day 2 were dramatically better & it was Billy Madden (Donegal GC), who put aside a disappointing day one to shoot a 1 over par 74 (which included a hole in 1 on the par 3 5th) to emerge from the pack & claim victory on a break of tie from over night leader Justin Coughlin, with both men finishing with a total of 158 each. Sean Moyna had to settle for 3rd place in the competition after finishing up with a total of 164 for the 2 days. Congratulations to Billy & to all of the prize winners over the 2 days.
