Par 5 - 485 Metres/530 Yards

Hole Description

The first loop of the course runs counter clockwise, on the outer edges of the golf course. with fine views of the sea and surrounding area and islands. Up until the early part of the last century, those islands surrounding the Murvagh Peninsula were still inhabited. The first fairway follows an old coach road used in the 1800’s to gain access to them by coach, horse and cart.

Pro's Tip

The course begins with a relatively easy par 5, slightly doglegged. The landing area for the drive is generous; but even so, unless you are going for the green in 2, favour the left off the tee. The longer hitters may elect to drive straight down the middle leaving a long iron to the green. The percentage play is a solid second shot out to the right leaving a full shot to the Green. A narrow green runs lengthwise, so that any shot hit over the bunker in front must bite and stop quickly.
