Par 4 - 399 Metres/436 Yards
Hole Description
Barnesmore Gap, meaning 'the Big Gap', is a gap through the Bluestack Mountains that was carved out as a U shaped valley during the last Ice Age. As with many other features of Donegal, it is of great geological importance, and stands in the distance, directly behind the 18th tee box.
Pro's Tip
A daunting tee shot with a narrow valley to play through to reach the fairway. From the tee, fairway bunkers sit on either side of the landing area. A good tee shot to the center of the fairway will leave you in reach of a slightly elevated green. Take an extra club and be sure to be up. The green boasts the deepest pot bunkers on the course right and left, which are to be avoided. A difficult finishing hole, par is elusive, sometimes when it is most needed!
